Merry Christmas everyone!!!!
Haha I know I'm late on this one, but I wanted to give you a little peek of what my fireplace looked like this year. The main focus was the advent bags I made in november...they were a HUGE hit with the kids! I took simple white cloth drawstring bags, and painted numbers 1-25 on them. I them chose an activity for each day and placed a note in each bag. Every morning, the kids raced to see what was in the bag...most mornings it was something simple, like baking christmas cookies & delivering them to our neighbors, or a christmas coloring sheet. Other days involved outings such as a trip to the store to pick out thise years ornament for each kid, going to see the lights of Christmas tree lane, or decorating Christmas cookies at their cousin's house. A great perk of this year is that my kids can't read, so if the card read something we didnt have time for that day, I quick chose another activity for them! :) Anyway, if you can get your hands on something like this, it's a GREAT tradition!
Here are some pics from our outing of mailing letters to Santa.
One day's activity was haeading to the Christmas Tree Farm to pick out our tree...(with cousins of course! Mine are the middle two!)
And one day, when I had a lot to get done, our Advent Activity for the day was to watch a Christmas movie...
One night we got to go to our Downtown to see the Candy Cane Lane Christmas Parade...
And a craft that was in one of the day's bag...my older two both made ornaments...simple & fun for them!
So anyway, that is a bit of what we have been doing the past month! Hope you had a wonderful time with your family!
