Choose joy...

Life can be crazy at times... I tell myself numerous times every day to "choose joy" no matter what is going on. Because yes, quite often it is a choice. I myself have found that saying it resets my attitude in a way...focusing less on myself & focusing more on God, who is ever faithful. God, who has blessed me beyond anything I could ever asked for or imagined. He is my backbone...a constant reminder that there's plenty of things to be joyful about.

*like the bracelet? It was a gift from my sweet cousin CaryAnn, who has an incredible shop: www.beweeshop.com
Go check it out!

*curious about what I'm crocheting? Those are soon-to-be boot cuffs in a brilliant shade of pink! I'm planning on listing them in my shop, that is, if I don't keep them for myself :)

Beanies cause it's soooo cold.

Whipping up beanies today. Yes, I know it's spring. Yes, I understand we are past spring break. And yes, I understand that in most of the country temps are getting warmer.
But here in good 'ol Colorado, temps have been freezing lately. Actually, below freezing. As in, the high was 12 degrees today, but real feel was -4. So, we are still in winter mode around here. My mother in law encouraged me to sing that oh so famous song from Annie "The sun will come out tomorrow".
So I'll leave you on that note and sing happily for all the world (my kids, in our house) to hear..."TOMORROW, TOMORROW...you're only a day away...."

Vintage bonnet...

We have two sick kiddos yesterday and today, which means I've been playing nurse. The last 24 hours have consisted of rubbing backs, holding buckets & snuggling on the couch. In an effort to save my clean carpet and couch, I'm standing watch by my kids to make sure their sickness stays where it should...in the bucket, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, we are one week away from moving, which means I "should" be packing boxes, but for now, we are snuggling. I picked up my crochet hook and found a vintage bonnet pattern off of ravelry...whipped it up while watching "Horton hears a who" which is the 5th animated movie we have watched today...
Here's to good health, hopefully it's coming soon and that Alan and I and baby Gwen don't get it. Roadtripping 20 hours while breing sick does not sound like a good start to our "big adventure"...

chunky blanket

We had a wedding this past weekend & I whipped up this chunky blanket for the newlyweds. It's a perfect brown with flecks of cream and black running through it. A wonderful mix of a rustic look with a cozy feel. I think I need to make a few more of these for the up & coming winter...if it ever stays below 95 degrees around here.
Just a few quick examples of beanies & clips!
Have a great day!

striped neck cowls

INTRODUCING:
Striped Neck Cowls
colorful, unique & easy to wear, these cowls add plenty to a simple outfit!
I have been busy, busy lately creating these unique pieces, gearing up for Fall & Winter!

The cowl above is the double neck cowl. Wear it long, or double it up, it's cute either way.
And that's also a new color, Barley, that is a nice brown with flecks of cream.

These two cowls are the full neck cowls. They are so easy to throw on over a long sleeve tee for instant style anyone can wear.

boot cuffs

I've been working on crocheting some boot cuffs.
I haven't perfected them yet, I think I like something a little chunkier, but these might work with some outfits...I'll let 'cha know if I start selling them...for now, they're custom orders only.
