Whipping up beanies today. Yes, I know it's spring. Yes, I understand we are past spring break. And yes, I understand that in most of the country temps are getting warmer.
But here in good 'ol Colorado, temps have been freezing lately. Actually, below freezing. As in, the high was 12 degrees today, but real feel was -4. So, we are still in winter mode around here. My mother in law encouraged me to sing that oh so famous song from Annie "The sun will come out tomorrow".
So I'll leave you on that note and sing happily for all the world (my kids, in our house) to hear..."TOMORROW, TOMORROW...you're only a day away...."

embellished hat & beaded necklace
I remember graduating from high school & a few years later we were in the wedding stage...it seemed we went to a friend's wedding or wedding shower every other weekend. Then it turned into baby showers every other weekend, and now we have arrived at the stage of life of birthday parties. We have had quite a few kid's birthdays the past few weeks..which has been so fun. My kids wake up each morning now and ask, "Mom, where are we going today?" It is such a cool stage of life to experience with our kids.
Anyway, this was a quick little gift I put together for a little girl who is turning four. I figured what little girl doesn't like jewelry? And the hat will be perfect for hot, sunny, summer days!

hats for summer
Where has the time gone? It's been a while since I've posted again, but that is once again because there have been so many projects going lately! So keep checking back 'cause over the next few days my plan is to share a bunch of handmade goodies with all ya'll!
These little girl hats were a find I picked up at Ross the other day for a few bucks. I really didn't love the bow they had on them...it was pink & green camo (just not my style), so I decided to add just a little sparkle to each of them & call it a day. I plan on keeping one for Tatum & the other will most likely end up as a gift. I am suspecting they'll get plenty of use throughout this summer on trips to the pool & the beach.
Ahhhh...I can almost feel that warm sunshine now...almost.
Come quickly summer.
