soak it up...

As a mama to two wee little ones, I haul around A...LOT...OF....STUFF. I love this custom order I received from a fellow mom who wanted a few bags made out of oilcloth to store her kids' wet bathing suits in after trips to the gym pool or to the beach. After making these do you think I wanted one for myself? Ummmm...yes please. These bags are so practical, yet the great oilcloth prints make me smile. I keep one in my beach bag, in my car, and also in my diaper bag at all times, because we are potty training around here, and accidents do happen, so we are frequently in need of a place to stash wet clothes & bathing suits until we get home...

button sweater...

Yes, it is summer and finally actually feeling like it around here (hello 105 degrees, I did not miss you!) But we had a mild spring, and when it was 72 degrees a few weeks ago I whipped up this little sweater for Tatum. I nabbed the sweater for $3.50 off the clearance rack at Target & knew it'd be a fun sweater to embellish.

So while she won't be wearing this in the Central Valley of CA anytime soon, we do have a couple beach trips planned in the next few weeks. This one might be the first item put in the suitcase...

This chick loves fruit snacks...

hat-tastic...

I wear hats just about everyday, so naturally, I wanted to get Tatum a little fedora to "match like mommy". I picked up this one on sale sale sale at Target, but did not particularly care for the red satin sash it came with. So a few crochetted flowers, a ribbon & a glue gun later, this is the result. I am into funky, eclectic style for my little missy...

racin'...

Today Cars 2 comes out, and that is big news in this house. Since my little 2 1/2year old filled up her potty chart, she is going to be treated to her first movie in a movie theater (complete with popcorn & icee...somehow that is the part she's most excited about). SO in honor of Cars2, here's a little handmade goodness along that thought...Enjoy your weekend!

another rendition...

A recently finished "church bag"...the fabric possibilities with these are endless...a simple structure which provides functionality, paired with custom selected fabrics that supply beauty...

I still need to make one for my little girl...the funny thing is, she is seldom the beneficiary of such handmade goodies, they're ususally bound as gifts or custom orders...

it's summer...

Been tryin' my hand at a few more felt flowers...I just love these little babies. Again, felt is the easiest material to work with, so that makes trying new things so fun. Also, I recently received a new shipment of wool blend felt in magical new colors. enjoy...

This little missy was getting a wee bit goofy in front of the camera...

4th of July options...

And I love a good bow. I tried a few different ways of sewing bows using felt...I am thinking these might be my new fav project.
Itty bitty baby flower...i'm pretty sure I'd prefer this one on an infant.
It got a bit lost on Tatum's head...

SO many more projects to come...

lovin' leather...

Tried my hand at making a few more flowers this week out of leather...tricky material to work with, but I really love the look of something besides ribbon. I'm pretty sure one or two of these will make it in my hair instead of going in Tatum's stash.

keep on runnin'...

Recently whipped up almost a dozen table runners for a custom order. This was an especially fun project because I looooooove the fabrics chosen. They are all from Heather Baily's line and totally great. These table runners were intended for decoration at a baby shower...but I'm pretty sure they'll get used for many other parties to come. They are also reversible, so patterns can be mixed and matched. Anyway, they were a semi-quick project and made me think that I might just need to make a few for my table at home.
